Goodbye January, Hello February!

You know how January is such a weird month in how it feels like it lasts for an eternity? January was certainly that but at the same time, it just flewwwww past! This may have to do with the fact that I'm a Mama now and my baby is growing faster than I'd like by the day. Cue the Mama tears.

January was a month where I've had to adjust to new things, new chapters in life. I've had to learn (and I'm still learning!) how to be a mother and balance parenthood. My baby boy is growing strong and healthy, he's just started smiling and cooing when I talk to him and it melts my heart every single time. He's learning how to hold his head up and he has officially outgrown several of his newborn clothes. It makes me proud that he's growing. But I am constantly begging time to slow down and let me enjoy my little baby a little longer.

My husband and I finally closed on our very first home at the beginning of the month! What should've taken a month to do, was delayed again and again and again until finally, we signed the papers and got the keys to our first home. January was full of packing, moving, renovating our house, filling it with the things we had from our apartment together in North Dakota. Homeownership is fun but goodness, it is so much work! And I could go on for days and days on how much work motherhood is.

Business wise, I've had to come up with plans, scrap them, re-do and scrap them. It's a ever changing, always evolving machine. But I am looking forward to what February brings. My baby boy will turn two months old, I'll (hopefully!) have all these boxes unpacked and my frames up on the walls. Our house will feel like a home. I'm running a special on maternity photography because my heart sings for these sessions. I'll be a vendor at my very first bridal show in just 17 days! YAY! Lots of exciting new things happening and I cannot wait to see how this second month in 2018 goes.
